Activities and sights in the national park

There are many hiking trails in Tyresta National Park. You can choose anything from a short walk of under an hour to longer routes that take a full weekend. Several trails are also suitable if you’re visiting the park with children.

At the park’s main entrance you’ll find Tyresta Village, a traditional farmyard with roots in the 18th century. Many of the buildings still stand where they were originally built. Here, you can meet the farm animals and visit the small country shop, where you can buy meat produced on the farm. The village also holds traces of the first people who settled in the area during the Iron Age.

A major wildfire in 1999 left a strong mark on Tyresta’s landscape. Today, you can hike through the affected area, which covers a total of 450 hectares, and see how nature has recovered over time.
