Färnebofjärden is, thanks to its wilderness character, rich wildlife, fishing waters and beautiful landscape, an attractive and well‑known area for nature study, canoeing and recreational fishing.

The main entrance is located on Mattön, about 2.5 kilometres southeast of Gysinge and Naturum Färnebofjärden. Gysinge, Östa and Tyttbo are good starting points for hiking and other activities in the park.

Accessibility

All entrances in Färnebofjärden National Park are adapted for accessibility. The areas within the entrance zones are hard‑surfaced, making it easy to get around with a wheelchair, walker or pushchair. At the entrances and at the beach at Hemön, there are also accessible dry toilets and shelters. At the main entrance, Skekarsbo and Balforsen, there are also accessible picnic tables.

Inside Naturum Färnebofjärden in Gysinge, there is an accessible toilet.
